Lieutenant Karen
Burklow is the Commander for the Criminal Investigation Division.
Lt. Burklow began her career in law enforcement with the
Thomasville Police Department in 1979. Lt. Burklow served as a
Patrol officer, Investigator, Crime Prevention Officer, D.A.R.E.
Officer, Public Information Officer, and Crime Prevention Sergeant.
Lt. Burklow was promoted in December of 1996 to Lieutenant and
served as a patrol watch commander until April 2007. Lt Burklow is
a graduate of the FBI National Academy: Class 179. Lt. Burklow is a
graduate of Thomas University with a Bachelors degree in Criminal
Justice, Post Baccalaureate in Middle Grades Education. Lt. Burklow
holds a Masters degree in Public Administration from Columbus State
University and a 2008 graduate of the Georgia Law Enforcement
Command College: Class 27B.
