Capt. Mark Scott has served with the Thomasville Police
Department since 1989 and is currently the commander of the
department’s Support Division. The Support Division includes
Thomasville Municipal Court, computer systems, evidence, vehicles
and equipment, training, crime analysis, accreditation, internal
affairs, crime scene investigations, grants, and special projects.
Capt. Scott has a BFA degree in Communications and a MS Degree in
Criminal Justice Administration from Valdosta State University, as
well as an MPA Degree in Public Administration from Columbus State
University. He is a graduate of the 194th session of the
FBI National Academy and of the 23rd session of the
Georgia Command College. He currently teaches Sociology as an
adjunct professor at Southwest Georgia Technical College. Captain
Scott is an active member of the Georgia Association of Chiefs of
Police and has received numerous departmental citations including
the combat cross and purple heart.
